5 Reasons You Need a Mom-and-Son Vacation

mother and son travel

With Mother’s Day right around the corner, a lot of attention has been given to Mother and Daughter getaways, girl trips, and Mom Spa days. We can’t help but feel like the guys are being left out a bit! There is an old saying, a daughter is yours for life and a son is yours till he finds a wife.  We don’t think this is true, and the old adage is pretty cruel when taken into account the love that a mother and son share.  If you love your mom, and want to show her, why not a book a Mom-and-Son getaway in special tribute to your special bond. Here’s are top reasons why you need to book this fun and unique trip!

1. Spend quality time together.

As you get older, it gets harder and harder to actually spend time with your mother. You now have an active life, career, friends, and a family of your own that take up your day. Nothing bonds people closer together than travel. Travel is truly a gift, and it can create a natural setting to reconnect with a loved one.

2. You’ll Learn and Grow Together.

There is no better teacher than travel. Travel brings new experiences and new ways to see the world. When you travel with a loved one, you’re taking in those experiences together. There is magic in learning together. It’ll connect you to your mother, and travel provides the perfect setting to do that together.  Cooking classes are always a hit, surf lessons are fun or maybe get tango lessons. If you’re short on ideas, talk to your Travel Agent. An experienced Travel Agent will have booked these type of activities for people before, and they will be able to find you a perfect activity.

3. Get back to your roots.

Many people can tell you the basics of their family genealogy but taking a trip to visit the origin of your Mother’s ancestry will make an unforgettable memory for both of you.  In addition to seeing the country of your mother’s roots, you might even be able to connect with some long lost relatives.  For moms who are really interested in genealogy or history, this can be a really special and meaningful trip to take.

4. Start a new tradition.

Many families make traveling together a yearly tradition.  Sometimes there is a favorite destination that you’ll want to go together every Thanksgiving, or a summer getaway where the location changes.  It doesn’t really matter as long as you are traveling together. If you need inspiration, talk to your Travel Agent to get ideas.

5. Giving the BIG gift.

Most moms don’t really care what you give them for Mother’s Day, as long as you show them you care.  Surprising your sweet mom who expects nothing with a BIG gift is so much fun. Especially if your mom hasn’t traveled much.  It’s such a fun surprise!
